Frequently asked questions
Do you have a minimum order for laser cutting?
No. Single items are welcome — whether that's one bespoke sign, one personalised plaque or one replacement gasket.
What thickness of material can you laser cut?
Up to approximately 15mm acrylic, 18mm birch plywood, and 10mm MDF. Thinner materials cut cleanly at high speed. Contact us with your specification and we'll confirm suitability.
Can you cut and engrave in the same job?
Yes. Cutting and engraving are often combined in a single setup — for example a panel cut to shape and engraved with a logo or text at the same time.
Can you engrave photographs?
Yes. Greyscale photo engraving works well on wood, leather and slate. Send us your image and we'll let you know what's achievable before you order.
What file format do you need?
Vector files are ideal — SVG, DXF, AI or PDF (vector-based). For engraving jobs we can also work from raster images (PNG, JPG). If you only have a logo as a JPG we can usually redraw it as a vector — just ask.
Can you laser cut metal?
We can surface-engrave anodised aluminium and some coated metals. For through-cutting sheet metal, our CNC routing service is more appropriate — we can advise on which process suits your job.
How long does laser cutting take?
Most orders are completed in 2–4 working days. Simple single-item jobs are often turned around next day. Lead times are confirmed with your quote.
