Frequently asked questions
Do you have a minimum order for CNC routing?
No. Single one-off parts are welcome. We regularly cut individual panels and components for businesses that need something made once.
What thickness of material can you cut?
This depends on the material. We cut aluminium up to approximately 10mm, plywood and MDF up to 25mm, and most plastics up to 20mm. Contact us with your specification and we'll confirm.
What tolerances can you achieve?
Typically ±0.1–0.2mm on most materials. Tighter tolerances are achievable on engineering plastics and aluminium where the geometry allows. We'll confirm what's achievable on your specific part.
What file format do you need from me?
DXF is ideal for 2D cutting profiles. STEP, IGES and PDF drawings also accepted. If you don't have CAD files, we can design from a sketch, photo or verbal description.
Can you cut carbon fibre?
Yes, with appropriate dust extraction and tooling. Please mention carbon fibre when you enquire as it requires specific preparation on our end.
Can you cut and drill in the same job?
Yes. Profile cuts, pockets, slots and drilled holes can all be combined in a single setup where the geometry allows.
How long does CNC routing take?
Most single items and small batch orders are completed in 3–5 working days from design approval. We'll confirm the lead time with your quote.
