Meet the Founder
Simon Foxlee is the founder of 3D Innovations, based in Wishaw, Scotland. With a background in reverse engineering and custom component design, Simon set up the business to solve a problem he kept running into: most fabrication shops won't touch small, awkward, or one-off jobs. 3D Innovations does.
The business combines CNC routing, laser cutting, 3D printing, and Fusion 360 CAD design with over 30 years of hands-on electronics experience — from a quick soldering repair to designing and wiring a project from scratch. One recent example: a full cockpit panel redesign and rewire for a light aircraft.
Our Story
3D Innovations was founded to make professional-grade fabrication accessible to businesses of all sizes. What began as a passion for engineering and product development has grown into a full-service workshop supporting clients across Scotland and the UK — covering bespoke replacement parts, prototypes, production runs, signage, display pieces, and one-off commissions.
We specialise in solving the problems others won't take on — the broken part with no replacement, the discontinued component holding up an operation, the custom one-off design that nobody else will manufacture in a single quantity. From replacing soap dispenser locks for hotel chains to designing and installing complete aircraft cockpit panels — no job is too complex or too small.
We combine Fusion 360 CAD expertise with practical manufacturing knowledge. The result: parts that look right, fit right, and arrive when you need them.
What We Do
We offer four core manufacturing services, all available individually or combined for complex projects requiring multiple processes.
3D Printing
Bespoke replacement parts, functional prototypes and custom components. Materials include PLA, PETG, ABS, Nylon and TPU. Single parts welcome — no minimum order. Fast turnaround for business clients across the UK.
CNC Routing
Precision CNC routing and cutting of wood, MDF, plastics, composites and aerospace-grade aluminium. Ideal for custom panels, brackets, signage and one-off components.
Laser Cutting & Engraving
Precision laser cutting and engraving for custom parts, signage, panels and decorative components. Crisp, accurate cuts on acrylic, plywood, leather, card, slate and more.
Bespoke CAD Design
Full CAD design service using Fusion 360. We design from scratch, reverse engineer broken or discontinued parts, and produce production-ready files. From brief to finished design — we handle the whole process.
